The Mission of the Keith County Community Foundation is to enrich the quality of life in our county-wide community by:

  • Providing a means for citizens to give something back to the community they love.

  • Supporting and strengthening local non-profit organizations.

  • Identifying needs and making grants in areas of human services, education, environment, art, culture, recreation and civic improvements.

  • Participating in partnerships with other community groups in the county.

  • Building an endowment to help meet future community needs for generations to come.

Preserving Our Heritage

Providing for the Future!

Why do we need a community foundation?

A community foundation is a local, public charity established to provide an easy way for people to give assets or leave assets to their community or to specific entities, such as public libraries, community

centers, parks, etc.

It provides a means for individuals or organizations to create their own funds under the community foundation umbrella without having to get their own tax-exempt (501c3) designation. It also relieves those creating funds--for a church for example--of certain responsibilities and liabilities.

A community foundation is a vehicle for creating a permanent community endowment.

Our Keith County Community Foundation, through our affiliation with the

Nebraska Community Foundation,

provides professional management of our funds. We can provide donors with maximum flexibility and tax advantages.
